Hooka Senior Stylist wins at L'Oreal Colour Trophy


Jon Wraight from Hooka on Wood Street has been chosen as one of Britains seven most talented and exciting young hairdressers from across the country. Jon has won a highly acclaimed Young Colourist Award and will now be part of the exciting NEW 2011 L’Oreal Professional Colour Academy, created and designed to support and nurture the colour icons of the future.

On Monday 4th July over 100 of the hairdressing industries most high profile and successful figures gathered at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London for the prestigious 56th annual awards to witness Jon being presented with his award by the ever cool Radio One Presenter Sara Cox .

Each year over over 1200 photographic entries pour into the L’Oreal competition with before and after transformation images for the Young Colourist Category. Only five entries per seven regions were chosen to make it through to the live finals in Manchester and London. Jon was one of the 35 finalists to put their raw technical skills to the test live during two main challenges of T Section Highlights and Creative Colour, each task included a strict judging criteria including equipment usage, precision placement, colour choices and the overall look amongst others.
